Inertia Is Not an Option

In a recent survey on the state of data security, only a quarter of cybersecurity leaders said they are “very confident” about their organizations’ ability to prevent a data breach or loss in the next six months. That means three out of four respondents have at least some concerns about their protection.

Yet only a little more than half (56%) of respondents said they are very likely to make an enterprise data loss prevention (DLP) platform investment soon.2 Clearly, there’s a big gap between what leaders want to do and what they plan to do. What’s behind the inertia?

Changing your DLP solution can feel overwhelming. After all, it requires you to spend time finding and implementing a new solution and training your team. Changing solutions often involves financial costs and has the potential to disrupt business operations. It can even expose you to regulatory risk if sensitive data gets lost or exposed in the transition.
